Jalna Rae (Haggerty) Ross

BEVERLY - Jalna R. (Haggerty) Ross, 78 of Beverly, formerly of Lynn, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, with her children lovingly by her side.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Gaudet) Haggerty. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn.

Hardworking throughout her life, Jalna held a variety of jobs, eventually retiring from Boston University as an Administrative Assistant. Following her retirement, she continued to pursue her part-time work for a laundromat; she loved her laundry. Jalna ended her working career as a companion for Associated Home Care. She was known for her strong work ethic, her dedication and loyalty.

A loving mother and grandmother, Jalna considered this her most important role and one she took seriously, her family came first and foremost in her life. Jalna is survived by her children, Clifford Moreland and his wife, Margaret; Kelley Belyea and her husband, Doug, Shana Ross, step-child, Julie Mullen and her husband, Mark, and grandchildren, Nicholas, Lisa, Lauren, and Brendon.  She provided a warm and loving home for her children and grandchildren and was happiest when surrounded by them. 

Kind and honest, she was a great friend and fostered many lifelong friendships. She had been a ball room dance instructor as a young woman and enjoyed line dancing throughout her adulthood. She will be forever remembered as kind, honest and loyal and will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to A Celebration of Jalna’s life on her 80th birthday, at Spinelli's Function Facility, Route One South, Lynnfield, Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at 1 P.M. A Graveside Service will be held prior to the Life Celebration at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody at 12:30 P.M.
