SALEM – Mr. James Edward Rybicki, 66 of Salem, loving companion of Colleen Murphy, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Beverly Hospital.
Born in Salem, James was the son of the late Edward and Constance (Carpenter) Rybicki. Raised and educated in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High School.
James dedicated his entire professional career to the transportation industry where he was a proud Truck Driver with J R Trans for his whole life. He also drove the trucks for North Shore Recycle Fibers in Salem.
A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, James enjoyed his community and the many friendships he shared. Aside from his professional career as a Truck Driver, James was a talented musician and shared his talent as the drummer of the local and popular band known as the Smuggler. Anywhere James went, you could find him tapping his fingers or moving his hands to the motion of beating a drum, especially when waiting for a delicious bag of Hobbs popcorn at the Salem Willows. James was hilarious, always making his family and friends smile and laugh. He enjoyed going out to eat with his mother and taking trips to Winter Island with his nephews. Above all else, he loved his family and will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his longtime companion Colleen, James is survived by his daughter, Nichole Rybicki, his son, Brian Rybick and his wife Kati, his step-children, Amanda Murphy, Amy Grady and JJ Milea, his 3 grandchildren, Haley James Eddows, Jackson James Rybicki and Channing David Hamer, his sister, Patricia Lach and nephews, Chris and Scott Matton.
