SALEM – Mrs. Jean Marie (Shallow) Grabowski, 94 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Seasons of Danvers with her loving family by her side.
Born in Salem, Jean was the daughter of the late Harold and Katherine (Lynch) Shallow. Raised and educated in both Beverly and Salem, Jean attended schools in both communities and was a graduate of Salem High School. She continued her education at Salem State Teachers College where she earned her bachelor’s degree.
A lifelong learner and educator, Jean began her career as an elementary school teacher in the Gloucester Public Schools. She then taught for more than 40 years in the Danvers Public Schools. Jean loved teaching the many generations in the community and truly enjoyed seeing former students of hers throughout the years.
A loving and devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, Jean went above and beyond to provide for her family. Her daughters and grandsons were her greatest treasures, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Enjoying all the simplicities of life, Jean was happiest when she was at home with her family. Her legacy carries on as she will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched throughout her life.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Grabowski of Boston and Maureen Weimert and her partner Michael Perham both of Danvers, her grandsons, Christopher Weimert of Somerville and Jonathan Weimert of Danvers, her nephews and their spouses, David and Lynn Shallow and Donald and Kimberly Shallow of Florida, grand niece Kara Shallow and grand nephew Ryan Shallow, other surviving relatives, and Stephen Weimert, former son-in-law of Wilmington. She was the sister of the late Harold Shallow.
