Jean L. Woods

SALEM – Jean L. Woods, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Evelyn (Williamson) Woods. Jean was the loving wife of John H. Morrissey, with whom she celebrated 19 years of marriage.

Educated in Saugus, after graduation Jean went on to further her education at Lesley University in Cambridge, earning her Bachelor’s Degree. Soon after she began working as a program analyst with the Federal Department of Transportation. She worked for FDT for over 40 years before her retirement.

Jean was an avid antiquarian, always on the lookout for a special piece. She also enjoyed traveling, her most loved destinations being California and multiple trips with John to London over the years. Jean loved spending time making memories with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind soul and warm heart.

In addition to her loving husband, John H. Morrissey, Jean is survived by her brother, Richard Woods and his wife Patricia, sister-in-law, Patricia Walter and her husband, William, brother-in-law Joseph Morrissey and his wife, Julie, and aunts; Jean E. Woods of Saugus and Marion Chatterton of Saugus.
