GLOUCESTER – Mr. Jeffrey “Jeff” John Favazza, 69, of Gloucester/Beverly, loving husband of Barbara C. (Moore) Favazza passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Beth Israel-Lahey Hospital Burlington following a sudden illness.
Born in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Michael and Nona (Foss) Favazza. Raised and educated in Gloucester, Jeff was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1969.
Jeff worked as a machinist for various manufacturing companies while taking classes to hone his craft. These companies included B.F. Goodrich in Gloucester, TEMCO in Danvers, and most recently Synventive Molding Solutions in Peabody where he retired. As a talented machinist, Jeff earned the respect and admiration of his co-workers, and made many close friends throughout his career.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jeff was happiest when with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his world. He was an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins, and enjoyed discussing the state of his favorite teams with his friends and family. His hobbies included collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia, collecting coins, and dabbling with painting and art. Jeff enjoyed walking the Boulevard with his wife, playing cards with his wife and grandchildren, and eating meals with family at Stephanie’s Pancake House in Rowley. Jeff will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his humor and contagious laugh, his ability to converse about many subjects, and his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. His most endearing qualities were his honest nature and strong character. There was not a man that would work harder for his family and the ones he loved. Jeff will be forever missed.
In addition to his wife Barbara, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage, Jeff is survived by his daughter, JoEllen Falk and her husband Scott of Essex, and his son, Justin Favazza and partner Nicole Cassell of Salem, his 4 grandchildren, Brandon, Liam, Cole and Lainie, all of Essex, his brother Kim Favazza of Florida, special aunts Mary O’Brien and Fran Boyd, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, in-laws Dorothy and Angus Moore, and his brother Joseph Favazza.
