Joanne Canty Obituary

LYNN – Ms. Joanne Elizabeth Canty, 71 of Lynn, beloved longtime companion of Richard Steeves passed away on June 18, 2020 at North Shore Medical Center in Salem with her family by her side.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John J. Canty, Jr. and Helen (Swiscz) Canty. Raised and educated in Salem she was a graduate of Salem High School.

Early in her professional career, Joanne had worked for General Electric in Lynn.

Joanne enjoyed spending her time painting. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, companion and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Joanne is survived by her sister, Judith M. Neylon of Salem, her brothers, John J. Canty and his wife Barbara of Salem, James Canty of Beverly and Jay Canty and his wife Susan of Salem and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family, all services are private.
