John Coyle Obituary

BEVERLY – Mr. John Nichols Coyle, DDS, 82 of Beverly, devoted husband of the late Mary N. (Bradley) Coyle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his loving family by his side.

Born in Salem, John was the son of the late Francis W. and Dorothy (Nichols) Coyle. Raised in Danvers, John was a graduate of St. John’s Prep and Merrimack College, where he met his future wife, Mary N. Bradley. He received his DDS from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1966, and he and Mary were married the same year.

John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the time of the Vietnam war, when he was stationed in Germany, caring as a dentist for service members.

Returning to the United States with his growing family, John worked briefly in private practice before joining the staff of Danvers State Hospital, where his mother had been a nurse. John dedicated many years to caring for the patients at the hospital and was the last dentist working there when it closed.

When John wasn’t helping others, he could be found tending to his flower garden, taking special care of his beautiful red roses. He was a devout Catholic and faithful attendee of the churches in the Beverly Catholic Collaborative. Above all, John was a loving husband, father, and Papa/Bubba who relished spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He will be fondly remembered by many and deeply missed by his loving family.

John is survived by his children and their families: William B. Coyle and his wife, Catharina, of Rockport; Siobhan M. Coyle and her husband, Chris Climenson, of Beverly; Mireille Coyle and her husband, Eric Mackin, of Beverly; and his cherished granddaughters, Mireille Climenson and Madeline Mackin.

John’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Home-Aide Care Solutions, Spectrum Adult Day Health, and Care Dimensions, and to Liz at the Center for Healthy Aging, for their help and support.
