DANVERS- Mr. John Steele Neuzil 88 of Danvers, died Sunday, August 25th, 2013 at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Herman and Margaret (Steele) Neuzil. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He continued his education attending Northeastern University and Harvard College School of Journalism.

An honorably discharged veteran, John served his country as a member of the United States marines during World War II. During his time serving his country, he was a member of the 1st troops to occupy Nagasaki and served on several islands in the Pacific Siapan, Okinawa and Hiroshima. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in action.

Mr. Neuzil had been employed as a Gyro Analyst at the General Electric Corporation and as an Inertial Guidance Programmer at Honeywell Corporation. Early on in his career John was associated with the Apollo Space Program as a systems analyst through his work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A long time resident of the City of Lynn, John was a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

John is survived by his son, John Jay Neuzil and his wife Lauren Borochaner of Florida, his daughters, Karen Harris and her husband Howard of Merrimack, N.H., Mary Wilson-Keech and her husband William of Amesbury, MA, Ann Marie Totten and her husband Jamie of Florida and Cynthia MacEwan and her husband Edwin of Minnesota, His dear friend of over 30 years, Virginia MacKeen of Danvers, his 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, his brother Gene Neuzil and his wife Delores of New Jersey and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Gloria Nesbit and Bertha Neuzil.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held, graveside in the Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott, Friday at 11:30 A.M..
