Jonathan Alexandre

SALEM - Mr. Jonathan Alexandre 31, of Salem, died unexpectedly on August 8th, 2020.  

He was born in Salem, Massachusetts. His parents, Marie (Joseph) Alexandre and the late Jean C. Alexandre, were born in Haiti and migrated to the US to provide a better life for their children. Jonny was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 2006. He continued his education at Salem State University.

Jonny, aka DJ BOFKA, was a well-known DJ on the East Coast.  He often donated his services to many community events throughout his beloved home of Salem and beyond. Whether he was dancing or joking around, he always brought life and laughter into our hearts. Jonny loved sharing his passion for music by entertaining people of all genres.  If you ever had the privilege to meet him then you know his presence lit up a room.  He had an easy way of making people smile.  

He was a loving father, caring fiancé, son, brother, and loyal friend. Jonny is survived by his loving fiancé and mother to his children, Evelyn Paniagua, his son, Julian, and his daughters, Sophia and Luna.  His mother, Marie Josee (Joseph) Alexandre.  His sisters, Elepsiba Alexandre and Paula Alexandre-Jallow. His brothers, Jean Alexandre and Jerry Alexandre. Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was the brother of the late, great, Claude Alexandre who passed away in September of 2019.  

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at O’Donnell - Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Friday, August 21^st from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Burial  in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family may be made to his tribute fund.  All attendees are required to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and are respectfully asked for no physical contact with the family.
