SALEM – Mr. Jose Lora, 88 beloved husband of Maria de la Rosa, died, November 9, 2025, following a brief illness at Salem Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Janey de Janico, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Jose Rodriguez and Gertrudiz Lora. He was raised in Janey de Janico, DR and lived for many years around La Vega, DR. He came to the United States in 2006 making Salem his home, joining his family and many friends.
Mr. Lora had been employed in the agricultural field as a farmer and more recently had been in the construction business until the time of his retirement.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Jose was happiest when spending time with his family, listening to music, dancing and watching baseball. He kept hope every day that he would win the big one, with his scratch tickets and games of chance. He was dedicated to his catholic faith and was devoted to his family. May his memory always be eternal.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria De La Rosa, of Salem, his children, Maria del Carmen, Julian, Juana, Olguito, Felipe, Rigoberto, Mercedes, Maritza, Elias, Jose and Juan, his many, many grandchildren and extended family and friends.

SALEM - José Lora, de 88 años, amado esposo de María De La Rosa, falleció tras una breve enfermedad en el hospital Salem, rodeado de su querida familia.
Nacido en Janey de Janico, República Dominicana, era hijo de los difuntos José Rodríguez y Gertrudiz Lora. Se crió en Janey de Janico y vivió muchos años en los alrededores de La Vega. Llegó a los Estados Unidos en 2006 y se estableció en Salem, donde se reunió con su familia y amigos.
El Sr. Lora trabajó en el sector agrícola como agricultor y, más recientemente, en la construcción hasta su jubilación.
Un esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo amoroso, José era más feliz cuando pasaba tiempo con su familia, escuchando música, bailando y viendo béisbol. Cada día mantenía la esperanza de ganar el premio mayor con sus boletos de lotería instantánea y juegos de azar. Era un católico devoto y un hombre entregado a su familia. Que su memoria sea eterna. A José le sobreviven su esposa, María De La Rosa, de Salem; sus hijos, María del Carmen, Julián, Juana, Olguito, Felipe, Rigoberto, Mercedes, Maritza, Elías, José y Juan; sus numerosos nietos y demás familiares y amigos.
