LYNN – Mr. Jose Reynoso, 76 of Lynn died unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge following a valiant battle with Covid-19.
Born in Sabana Piedra Villa Altagracia, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Rafael and Juana (Clisante) Reynoso. He was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States in 1968, settling in New York City. He moved to Peabody in 1970 and then made his home in Lynn in 1971. He would reside in Lynn for over 45 years.
Mr. Reynoso had been employed with the General Electric Company as an Engine Assembler for over 35 years at its River Works plant until the time of his retirement in 2005.
The patriarch of a large and loving family, Jose was the family pillar and pioneer. He assisted with helping his siblings immigrate to the United States to provide better opportunities for generations to come. He was a man of little wants and would never complain. He always out-stretched his hand to help those in need and took great pride in the accomplishments of his family.
An all-around handyman, Jose was a master of all trades and would often lend a hand with projects at the homes of family and friends. He enjoyed spending his time playing dominoes and was a passionate baseball and sports fan. Yet above all else. his faith and family always came first. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Jose is survived by his children, Griselda Mercedes and her husband Blass of Peabody, Rosa De La Cruz of Lynn, Georgina Toribio and her husband Ananias of Lynn, Moses Reynoso and his wife Jhanny of Lynn, Persida Chez and her husband William of Lynn and Celestina Sierra and her husband Manuel of Brooklyn, NY, his grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Gabriel Mercedes, Justin, Anthony and Natalie De La Cruz, Nicholas, Anthony, Alexander, Eric, Marcos, Gabriella and Abigail Toribio, Arlin, Briana, Moses Jr, Ariana and Eliany Reynoso, Tiana Toribio, Thomas and Timothy Chez and Christian Sierra, his former wife of over 25 years, Gilda Reynoso of Lynn, his 6 great grandchildren, his siblings, Maria, Cecilio and Anselmo Reynoso, his longtime partner Grecia Rodriguez of Lynn and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Jose Alberto Toribio and five siblings.
