SALEM- Mr. Joseph O. "Buddy" Raby, 92 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Finnegan) Raby; and died on what would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Emile and Marie (Jalbert) Raby. He was raised and educated in Salem and grew up in the Castle Hill section of Salem. He was a ship's cook SC2 in the United States Maritime Service serving on the Gallups Island in Boston in 1944. He was a leather worker most of his life, specializing in color wheels. Buddy is survived by his children, Linda Raby of North Port, Fl., Arthur (Mary Ann) Raby of Salem; Jeannette (Leo) Hincman of Hampton, N.H.; Joey (Joan) Raby of Palm Coast, Fl and Diane (Ed) Raby Villaras of Pasadena, MD, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy and his sons Steven "Puggy" and William "Billy" Raby as well as his brothers Gene and Arthur Raby and his dear friend Irene (Guy) Lavoie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many good friends including Polly Jean, Sue Hanlon, Geraldine Maurice and Larry Tessier. Buddy's family would like to thank their dad's special care givers of Hospice Team Ruby for their compassionate support and care.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Thursday, Dec. 1st at 12 noon. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10 to 12 Noon.
