BEVERLY – Mr. Joseph Edward Robichaud, 85 of Beverly and devoted husband of the late Dorothy Anna (Chmiel) Robichaud, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Beverly Hospital.
Born in Milford, Massachusetts on October 21, 1937, Joseph was the son of the late Valerie and Delia (Cormier) Robichaud.
He spent his formative years in Fitchburg, and was the only brother to his four sisters, the late Theresa Bates, Rita LePage, Dora Cyr and Marie Beausoleil. He loved to protect and tease his sisters and was always a helpful son to his mother.
Joseph always loved adventure and had a love for airplanes. He joined the United States Air Force where he worked as a communications specialist during the Korean War.
After his discharge from the military, Joseph returned home and spent his years working at Parker Brothers in Salem. He worked for various departments and eventually became a pressman, printing the world-renowned Monopoly board games.
Joseph had many passions and was always one to see how things clicked, loved working on cars, his house, oil painting, golfing, deer hunting, fishing and boating. He was a member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club and the Bass Haven Yacht Club.
When he was not busy with his own passions, he always made time for his family playing cards or family board games, family gatherings, taking day trips and family vacations. Joseph was happiest when he could do it all and never had an idle moment. As busy as he was, he always put family first.
He came from a family of strong Catholic values and was a man of great faith which he passed to his children, creating a strong family bond. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.
Joseph is survived by his four children, Nancy Fleming and her husband, David Visconte of Ft. Pierce, FL; Steven Robichaud and his former spouse, Lisa Mahony of Beverly; Debora Robichaud of Beverly; and Edward Robichaud of Beverly and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. He is survived by siblings, Rita LePage and her husband, Thomas, Dora Cyr and her partner, Alan Morneau and Marie Beausoleil. Joseph was the brother-in-law to the late Alan Bates, Philip Cyr and Raymond Beausoleil.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joseph’s funeral Mass which will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody on Saturday, September 16th at 10 A.M.
