SALEM – Ms. Juana Gomez, age 104 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14th, 2023 in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Castillo, Dominican Republic, Juana was the daughter of the late Leon and Matilda Gomez. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic, immigrating to the United States in the 1980’s making Salem her permanent home.
As a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Juana took great pride in providing a warm, loving and clean home for her family. She relished in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren laughing and making many memories. She adored the company of her nieces and nephews and particularly enjoyed talking with her nieces for hours. Deeply devoted to her faith, Juana was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church and the Immaculate Conception Church of Salem where she delighted in the church community and her many friendships. She will be deeply missed.
Juana is survived by her daughter, Estela Gutierrez and her husband Ramon; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael and Stella Gutierrez and Alexander, Karen and Elena Gomez; her great-grandchildren, Emily Pimental, Eliana Irizarry, Elaine Gutierrez, Valerie Diaz, Trae Regens, Arnelis, Delianna, Yustyn, Mariajose Paredes and Ivan Paredes; her nieces, Elena Vasquez and Yacell Gomez and nephews, Nelson and Rafael Gomez.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Juana’s funeral Mass which will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem on Tuesday, May 23rd at 11 A.M.
