DANVERS - On Monday, September 6th, after a lengthy illness and with supreme dignity and grace, Judith Ann Gould’s spirit passed peacefully into a higher world. Lovingly surrounding her bedside during her last hours were her adoring family members. Her moment of passing was a joyful celebration of a life exceedingly well-lived and a testimony to a woman loved and admired by all who knew her.
Judi was born in Brockton on June 29, 1946 to Captain (retired U.S. Army) John J. Gardner Sr. and Anne A. Gardner, where she graduated from Brockton High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Boston State University. Shortly after their college graduations, Judi married Bill Gould, her high school sweetheart and that union produced two lovely daughters, Allyson Gould Beauvais and Jennifer Gould, as well as three granddaughters all of whom were supremely dedicated to their nurturing mother and grandmother.
Predeceasing Judi’s passing were her loving husband Bill Gould, her parents, Anne and John Gardner, and John J. Gardner Jr., her oldest brother. With her passing, Judi leaves daughters, Allyson Gould Beauvais of Boxford and Jennifer Gould of Brighton, granddaughters, Isabelle, Brooke and Julia Beauvais, brother, David Gardner and sister-in-law, Marion Gardner of Texas, son-in-law, Ben Beauvais, brother-in-law, Jack Gould, sister-in-law, Sheryl Gould and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and admiring friends.
If one were to ask those closest to Judi to describe her most defining qualities, they would undoubtedly describe them as a fierce and deeply inherited love of her family and an inner gentleness. In her parents advancing years, Judi was an undaunting advocate and caregiver and under her careful direction both parents lived beautiful and productive lives well into their nineties. Those same caring qualities were evident in her interactions with the many others whose lives were touched by her kindnesses.
