Obituary

DANVERS - Mrs. Julie D. Della Monica, 71, of Danvers, beloved wife of Peter Della Monica, passed away peacefully August 15th, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jeanne (Poissant) Gosselin. She was raised and educated in Berlin, NH and Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School. Julie continued her education and earned her Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology at Northshore Community College.

Julie embarked on a 29-year career in Imaging Technology. She served her initial 25 years at the Hunt/Beverly Hospital as an X-Ray Technologist and then received further training to do CT scans and special procedures.  Ultimately, she would manage the entire imaging department.  She continued her career at Mass General Hospital as a special 3D Imaging Technologist. Her strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate care and empathy for all she met will be forever remembered.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Julie’s family was her greatest source of joy. She was very proud of her children and their many accomplishments and received such happiness when her beloved grandchildren came along. Julie relished the times spent doting on her grandchildren.

Julie and Peter were long time members of the Jubilee and Danversport Yacht Clubs and together had set out to sea on many great adventures. Julie will be forever remembered for her zest for life, her devotion to her family and her kind and generous spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Surviving Julie, in addition to her loving husband Peter with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, are her sons, Peter A. Della Monica and his wife, Sheri of Boxford, Adam Della Monica of Boxford and Jason R. Della Monica of Danvers, her grandchildren, Madison, Sofia, and Caitlin, her siblings, Jaclyn Lamoureux and her husband, Michael of Rockport, Elizabeth Arness and her husband, Brian of Simpsonville, SC, and Robert Gosselin and his wife, Patricia of Hunstville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
