SALEM- Mr. Kazimierz “Charlie” Pierga, 85 of Salem, beloved husband of Pauline (Cormier) Pierga, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Salem Hospital.
Born in Kozlewek, Poland, he was the son of the late Walter and Anna (Krol) Pierga. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of the former Essex Agricultural School in Danvers,
An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Pierga proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Following his discharge from the service, Charlie embarked on a long career as a Metal Smith, a trade he developed in the service, for Draper Laboratory where he remained for over 38 years of dedicated service and was known for his ability to see a job through and embodied the true spirit of a team player.
An old fashion gentleman, Charlie believed family was paramount. He was a loving husband and an adoring hands on Dad. He was proud of his family and was always there with a kind word, support and guidance. He was an all-around “Mr. Fix It” and was often sought after for his help, by family and friends with their many projects. They knew Charlie would always complete what he started and could be counted to get the job done right. He loved to tend to his garden and was a longtime member of the PLAV of Lynn.
Surviving Charlie, in addition to his wife Pauline with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, are his sons, Thomas Pierga of Salisbury and John Pierga and his wife, Tina of Danvers, his former daughter-in-law, Christine Pierga of Peabody, his grandsons, Joshua Pierga and his wife, Helena of Freemont, NH and Matthew Pierga of Ventura, CA, his step-granddaughter, Reese Pszenny of Danvers, his sister, Helen O’Neil and her husband, Kevin of East Kingston, NH and his nephew, Christopher O’Neil and his wife, Kayla of East Kingston, NH. He was also the uncle of the late Jennifer Markey.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family all services are private.
