Kevin Gregory Mourning

HAVERHILL – Mr. Kevin Gregory Mourning 34, of Haverhill, formerly of Salem, beloved husband of Sarah (Shahin) Mourning, died suddenly June 6^th, 2022.

Born in Rochester, New York, he was the son of Gregory A. and Susan M. (Spencer) Mourning. He was raised and educated in Webster, New York and was a graduate of Webster Thomas High School, Class of 2006, with a NYS Regent Diploma. He continued his education at Salem State University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Mr. Mourning began his professional career in the accounting field having been associated in both public and private account fields in the Boston area. More recently, he began a new career and passion, designing landscapes and stone masonry installation. He was a hard-working technician and had a great talent for his new found professional calling. He was currently employed with W.T. LeRoyer Landscape and Design of Ipswich. He was well respected by his clients and co-workers for his dedication to his craft.

A new and proud father, Kevin truly loved being a father first and foremost. His second life’s love was his beloved Sarah. They were a true love story and together for ten years. They were a great couple. He was so loved by his family and especially close with his parents and sister.

An avid skateboarder, Kevin continued this passion into adulthood. It allowed him to express himself and build friendships. You could see the happiness on his face when he was riding his board.

Kevin was blessed with many lifelong friends that travelled together and supported each other through anything and everything. No matter the time or place if one of their friends was in need, they would all be there. No matter the challenges, no matter the issue, his true friends supported him all along the way. They created many memories that will last forever.

One of Kevin’s greatest passions in life was his beloved Buffalo Bills and being part of Bill’s Mafia. This is a generational gift, that has brought great joy, laughs, memories and friendships along the way. With a few tears too, but always hope for next year – that it may be the year. Kevin was a true proud member of the Bills extended family and it was his wish that Thomas continues the family tradition.  

Kevin’s life, although full of so many blessings, also had many challenges and he was courageous in facing them all.  During these times, Kevin was always surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Sarah (Shahin) Mourning of Haverhill, his one-year-old son, Thomas John Mourning, his parents Gregory A. and Susan M. (Spencer) Mourning of Pensacola, FL, his sister, Kelly Elizabeth Mourning of San Diego, CA, his maternal grandmother, Virginia Spencer of Gulf Shores, Al, his paternal grandfather, John Robert Mourning of Gilbert, AZ, his mother-in-law, Julie MacArthur, his uncles and aunts, John and Leah Spencer of Lincoln, NE, Steven and Lena Spencer of Bellingham, WA, Daniel and Andrea Spencer of West Chester, PA, Michael and Xandy Mourning of Chandler, AZ and Kathleen Rueger of Langdon, ND, his brother-in-law, Tarik Shahin of Peabody, his sister-in-law, Suzanne Purseglove of Tewksbury, his great aunt, Eleanor Forbes of Tempe, AZ and many extended family and friends. He was the grandson of the late Gregory Spencer and Lucille Mourning, nephew of the late Angela Ruiz and son-in-law of the late Mohamad Shahin.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a service of celebration in honor of Kevin’s life to be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Square, (at Salem Common) SALEM, Saturday, June 11^th at 1 P.M. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
