Lillian E. (Porsolt) Hall

DANVERS- Mrs. Lillian E. (Porsolt) Hall, 96 of Danvers, formerly of New Jersey and New York, and Florida, beloved wife of the late Daniel G. Hall, passed away Sunday January 10, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, in the company of her loving daughter.

Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Lillian was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Gough) Porsolt. She was raised and educated in New Jersey and was a graduate of New Brunswick High School. After marrying Dan Hall, they settled on a small farm in Dunellen, New Jersey, later moving to a dairy farm in Sherburne, New York.

Shortly after establishing their farm, Dan and “Bunny” as Lillian was known to family and friends, replaced their dairy with a flock of sheep and continued to enjoy the farming life for years. The family became active in 4-H, exhibiting their award winning sheep at county fairs in central NY. Lillian and her daughters learned the art of spinning wool to make yarn and the family participated in cultural fairs demonstrating the “sheep to shawl” process.

Mrs. Hall had been employed as a librarian at the Sherburne, New York Public Library for many years. A loving wife and mother, Lillian was dedicated to her family and faith. She was a long time active member of the Episcopal Church where she served her community and made many friends. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family and animals and deeply missed.

Surviving Lillian are her daughters, Nancy Rogers of Andover and Karen Hall of Exton, PA;  her grandchildren, Justin Rogers of Belmont and Danya Rosado of Clifton Heights, PA; and her great grandson, Josiah Harris also of Clifton Heights, PA.
