BOSTON- Miss Linda Pelletier 62, of Boston, formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly, November 29th, 2014 at Boston Medical Center. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Everett T. and Marie A. (Freeman) Pelletier. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1970. She continued her education receiving both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Salem State College. Linda then moved to Worcester and attended Assumption College, receiving a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. While residing in Worcester, Linda was employed at the Center for Living and Working, an Independent Living Program. Linda relocated to Boston and enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Rehabilitation at Boston University. Linda was forced by illness to abandon her dissertation and graduated Boston University with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies Degree in 1997. Following the diagnosis of her illness she was employed for a number of years at the Boston University Rehabilitation Research and Development Center in Boston. A champion for those who could not fight for themselves, Linda was an avid Disability Rights Advocate throughout the course of her life. She was an inspiration to many for overcoming great odds to keep her mobility and independence until her dying day. Linda had a number of interests, most of all she was an ardent Boston Red Sox Fan and her apartment overlooked Fenway Park. She cheered on all Boston Sports teams and truly enjoyed being an independent resident of the City of Boston and feeding off of the "buzz" of the people of her beloved home town. She loved the movies and enjoyed reading. She was an inspiration to all. Linda is survived by her 3 cousins, Anne Masse, Elizabeth Hartnett and Raymond Sullivan, her loving care giver Mary Ketter and many dear friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Thursday, Dec. 4th at 10:30 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, North St., Salem/Peabody Line at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hour prior to the funeral from 10 to 10:30 A.M.
