DANVERS – Mrs. Lucille M. (Talbourdet) Bogel, 99, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Theodore J. Bogel, died, peacefully Sunday, December 6, 2020.         

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Louise (Mathias) Talbourdet. She was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of the former Cheverus High School. She continued her education, studying in Paris until World War II broke out. She was on the last passenger ship to arrive in America during the beginning of the war.

As a young woman, Mrs. Bogel had been employed as a translator in Boston. Upon marriage and starting a family, Lucille’s full focus was the care and concern of her loved ones. She took great pride in providing a loving and welcoming home for her family and supporting all of their endeavors.

An active member of the North Shore community, Lucille volunteered much of her time to help others. She was a Girl Scout leader, volunteer President of the Spar and Spindle Girl Scout Council and member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of St. Richard Church in Danvers and a member of the Richelieu Club of Salem. She was an avid gardener and her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Lucille is survived by her daughters, Carol Beatrice and her husband Peter of Danvers and Claire Lopata and her husband Michael Keating of Groveland, her son, Theodore G. Bogel of Danvers, her grandchildren, Justin, Kristin, Peter, Derek, Kyle, Tyler, Melissa, Kathleen and John, her great grandchildren, Peter, Emma, Catherine, Jack, Louis, Tessa, Liam, Lia, Brady, Hailey, Riley, Adelaide, Emerson and Kinsley, her sister, Terry Smith of Scituate, her sister-in-law, Carolyn Talbourdet of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Andre and Guy Talbourdet.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Danvers, MA 01923. Burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Lucille’s name to Make A Wish Massachusetts, 133 Federal St., 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
