Margaret Ann "Peg" Ward Obituary

SALEM - On January 23, 2023, Margaret Ann Ward (Peg) passed away peacefully at her home in the John Bertram House of Salem, MA where she had lived since April of 2022. She was 97 years old and had been a longtime resident of Plumsteadville, PA.

Margaret was the daughter of Lois Gillette McConnel of Darien, CT and Walter McConnel of Montoursville, PA. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Harry Clay Ward. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Griffin Jacobs, d.o.b 2/24/89 and dec. 4/24/91.

A vibrant, caring mother, Margaret was very artistic and dedicated to serving others. She leaves behind three children, Deb Brennan D’Alessandro, Carolyn Ward Jacobs (married to Larry Jacobs) and Hank Ward (married to Michelle Ward.) She is also survived by her brother, Robert McConnel of St. Petersburg, FL and sister-in-law, Kay DuHadway of Seattle, WA; five nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: Margaret’s family will welcome visitors on Saturday, January, 28th from 3 to 5 p.m. at the home of Deb D’Alessandro, 18 Mall Street, Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers, Peg has requested a donation be made to Operation Smile, To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit
