SALEM - Ms. Mariana Johns-Parker, 69, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Guantanamo, Cuba she was the daughter of the late Conrado and Sefpharlin (Richards) Johns. Mariana immigrated to the United States at the age of 10 and was raised and educated in Salem, MA .
Ms. Johns-Parker had been employed in the healthcare industry for many years where she was known for her kind and gentle nature by those she cared for.
A loving mother, grandmother and aunt, family was paramount. Mariana's family always came first; she was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren and was truly proud of their many accomplishments and milestones. She was fun loving with an outgoing personality that endeared her to many. She loved to dance and cook and be surrounded by family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her passion and zest for life, her care and concern for others and deeply missed by her loving family and many friends and especially her beloved cats.
Surviving Mariana in addition to her beloved companion Alex Rosario are her sons, Wm. Malcolm Parker and his wife Porscha of Irvine, CA and Alejandro Parker and his wife Pamela of Indianapolis, IN, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Parker, William Parker Jr., Michael Parker and Matthew Parker all of Irvine, CA, her sister, Luisa Johns of Salem and her brother, Conrado Johns of Beverly, her nieces and nephews, Rosa Clark of Haverhill, and Jennifer Johns-Allan of CT, nephews, Carlos Morais of Haverhill and Conrado Johns, Jr. of New York. She was also the aunt of the late Michael Morais.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mariana's funeral service which will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2 P.M. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M.. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Mariana's memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
