Mary Theresa (Casey) Beaupre

SALEM - Mary Theresa (Casey) Beaupre, known as Theresa, passed away peacefully on April 30th, 2022 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA.  She was 90 years old.

Theresa was born in Salem to Mary J. (Sullivan) and Edward T. Casey.  A lifelong resident of Salem, she was educated at St. Mary’s Grammar School and Salem High School, graduating in 1950. 

Theresa married her childhood sweetheart, Alfred T. (Fred) Beaupre, whom she met on Salem Common.  They shared 54 years of marriage and five children until his death in 2005. 

After starting her family, Theresa went to work for the Salem School Department, with most of her years working alongside Doria and John Heath, as a special education para-professional. 

She was also a 39 year member of Salem Garden Club, where she enthusiastically participated in the Beautification of Salem Gardens, the annual Spring Garden Tours, and in the Holiday Boutique held during the weekend of the Historic Salem House Tour. She made many holiday wreaths, decorative items, and other crafts for these events.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Susan and Aladar Kish of Ravoire, Switzerland; Edward and Marie Beaupre of Salem, MA; Janet and Richard Graf of Melrose, MA; James and Tracy Beaupre of Redding, CA and Thomas and Marian Beaupre of New York City.  Also surviving her are her beloved grandchildren – Jeffrey Beaupre and his wife Tia; Stephen Beaupre; Laura, Julia and John Graf; Edward S. Beaupre, step-grandson Boris Kish and her great-grandchildren Koda, Fallon, Tilian, Tessa, Elisa and Isidora. She also shared a special bond with “cousin” Sharon Cohn Leloup and her husband Michael Cooke of Paris, France.

Theresa loved, and is remembered by, her many nieces, nephews, their spouses, and their children, as well as numerous cousins, in-laws, and family friends, many of whom showed her compassion and gave her great comfort in her final days.
