TOPSFIELD - Merelyn L. Adams, age 77, died unexpectedly on September 2, 2017 at Beverly Hospital. Merelyn was born on July 3, 1940 in Binghamton, NY. She grew up in Hempstead, NY and graduated from Uniondale High School. She and her late ex-husband, George Adams, lived in South Salem, NY for many years where they raised their two daughters, Dianna and June. During that time, Merelyn worked at Northern Westchester Hospital and also Deloitte and Touche in Westport, Ct. She was a dedicated and trusted associate and traveled extensively for them all over the United States. In 1998 she transferred to their Boston office so she could be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. As a resident of the town of Topsfield and Great Hill for many years, Merelyn was a devoted volunteer for the Scleroderma Foundation as well as the Council on Aging. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, knitting, walking and spending time with her six grandchildren, who were her entire world. Merelyn is survived by her daughters June Adams Williamson and her husband John T Williamson II of Rye, NH and Dianna Adams Patterson and her husband Daniel Patterson of Boxford, her grandchildren, John "Jack" T. Williamson III, Reed Williamson, Margot Williamson, Bailey Patterson, Connor Patterson and Lindsay Patterson. She is also survived by her twin sister, Meredith Scesney, of Albertson, NY and many nieces and nephews and extended family. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service, which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St. (rte. 62) Danvers, Saturday September 9th at 11 A.M.. A reception will immediately follow at the Great Hill Clubhouse, 1 Great Hill Drive, Topsfield. As requested visiting hours omitted. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Merelyn's memory to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Danvers, Ma 01923.
