SALEM & DENNIS - Mr. Michael P. Keefe, 30, beloved son of Brian and Mary Keefe, died peacefully at his home, April 1, 2020, in the loving embrace and care of his devoted parents, following a valiant battle with Cholangiocarcinoma. Born in Boston, he was the son of Brian and Mary (Upson) Keefe. He was raised and educated in Westford and was a graduate of Westford Academy. He continued his education at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, earning his Bachelor's Degree. He furthered his education earning his Master's Degree from Simmons College in Severe Special Education. A devoted and caring professional educator, Mr. Keefe had been employed with the New England Center for Children as a Special Education Teacher. He was known for his ability to lead and connect with his students. He was often considered a mentor and true friend to the students in his charge. He was also adored by his colleagues and the families of his students. He had a magical way about him that helped his students learn and thrive. If you looked up the definition of "Social Butterfly", Michael's picture was right next to it. He was kind, loving, friendly, gregarious and funny. He enjoyed people and people enjoyed him. He was the life of every party and wanted his friends to be happy and have fun, as he made sure that everyone was included. His friends were many and vast from every walk of life, background and discipline. He endeared himself to all. He never judged and always accepted others for their talents never seeing their faults or judgments. His kind soul, handsome looks and giving nature will be remembered by all who knew him. Michael had a love of animals especially his beloved Boston Terrier, Sophie who was always by his side, as well as his dogs Beau and Louis. Michael's love for the cape started when he was born. Michael spent every summer there. He got his first job on the Cape and loved spending time with his mom, dad and friends around a firepit in the backyard, or in the hot-tub. Michael loved going to the beach, especially the Beachcomber, going down and looking for sharks was great, climbing back up, not so much. Michael would often go to Provincetown with not only his friends but with mom and dad as well. His favorite spots were the Equal store, Bubalas, The Patio and the Marc Jacobs store (until they closed). He always wanted the large pillow of Cape Cod that was always on display on the porch of the gift shop next to the church. Michael loved taking mom and dad and his friends to the amazing shows and going dancing with his friends. The Cape was his happy place and where he always felt closest with his Papa.

Michael's light on this world, although short, was as bright as they come and will continue to illuminate our hearts and memories for everyone who he came in contact with. Michael is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Mary (Upson) Keefe of Salem and Dennis, along with many friends and extended family.
