BOXFORD- Mr. Michael “Mike” L. Sukaloski 74, of Boxford, beloved husband of Judy (Bost) Sukaloski, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Peter and Stella (Dombkowski) Sukaloski. He was raised and educated in Wilkes-Barre and was a graduate of Hanover Township High School. Mike continued his education and received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from King’s College.
An honorably discharged veteran, Mike proudly served his country during the Vietnam era as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Sukaloski began his career at Firmenich and later transitioned to Buffalo Color Corporation where he was employed as a salesman for several years. He later changed the course of his career and entered the programming field, first working as a programmer for Pencil Pushers in Lexington, and later BNY Mellon in Everett where he remained until the time of his retirement.
Dedicated to his family and faith, Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was happiest when surrounded by his family. He was easy going with a quick smile that endeared him to many especially his grandchildren. He was an active communicant of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Topsfield where he served as an usher for many years and volunteered for the yearly Bazaar. Mike had a passion for cars, particularly the classics of the 50’s and 60’s, he enjoyed riding ATV’s, was an avid sports fan and a season ticket holder of the Boston Red Sox. Mike will be remembered for his love of family, his strong faith in God and deeply missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Mike, in addition to his loving wife Judy with whom he shared 47 years of marriage, are his children, Jessica Gerteisen and her husband Nick of North Andover and his son, Michael Sukaloski Jr. of Waterboro, Maine, his grandchildren, James Gerteisen of North Andover and Jack Sukaloski of Waterboro, Maine, his beloved canine companion, Molly and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield on Friday, Feb. 12th at 11:30 A.M. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers on Thursday, Feb. 11th from 4 to 7 P.M.
