Michelle LeClair Obituary

SALEM – Ms. Michelle Monique LeClair 54, of Salem, died Monday, June 13th, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Michelle was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in September 2020. By March 2021, her family rejoiced when she was in remission. But just a few months later, the cancer aggressively made its return and unfortunately, its stay. Over the course of this difficult journey, she endured multiple surgeries, chemo treatments, and countless hospital visits. Yet, she braved through each and every day of her fight with hope in her heart and smile on her face.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Rene and Monique (Moratille) LeClair. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1985. She continued her education at Salem State College.

Ms. LeClair had been employed at Salem State College beginning her career in the Admissions Department and she advanced to become the secretary to the Dean of Human Services at the College.

A long-time resident of the city of Salem, Michelle was known for her style and fashion by one and all. Her fashion style was always one to be on the cutting edge. This co-in sided with her love of shopping and styling her family and friends was one of her loves. No matter the occasion she was always the best dressed, with perfect hair and makeup.

She had an exceptionally creative eye and shared her talents with others by creating many stunning gift baskets over the years. She took great pride in seeing the joy these creations brought to others. She had a a love of travel and music, especially Prince & Steven Tyler, but above all else she was happiest when spending time with her children. They brought her the greatest of joys and she was so proud of their accomplishments. Michelle was unapologetically herself and had an extraordinarily, vibrant, and vivacious energy that will live on in each of us forever. She will be deeply missed.

Michelle is survived by her children, Jonathan Lonergan and his wife, Erin of Newbury, Emily Lonergan of Beverly, Matthew Lonergan of Salem, Hannah Lonergan of Salem and Jeremy LeClair-Labrecque of Beverly, her sister, Nancy LeClair-Civiello of Sarasota, Fl, her brothers, Edmond LeClair and his wife, Robin of N.C., Steven LeClair of KS and Rene Alan LeClair and his husband, Gregory of FL and many nieces and nephews.
