PEABODY – Mrs. Nancy J. (Peterson) Fouhey, 68 of Peabody, beloved wife of William F. Fouhey, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Beverly Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Eileen (Carroll) Peterson. Raised and educated in Salem, she attended St. Mary’s Grammar School on Hawthorne Boulevard for Kindergarten through 8th grade and was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School class of 1970. Nancy continued her education at Salem State College and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Salem State School of Nursing in 1974.
Nancy had a passion for caring for others, as evidenced by her career as a Registered Nurse with Danvers Visiting Nurse Association until the time she became a mother. Being a Nurse was an occupation she was truly proud of as she maintained her license throughout her life. She was a loving wife, mother, nanni, sister, aunt and friend who loved her family fiercely and provided a warm and loving home for her family and friends. Always equipped with a joke, a laugh or a hug, she was the life of every party she attended and lit up every room she walked into. She would sing along to every song, especially Christmas carols, whether she knew the words or not, many times making it her “own” version. She lived her life by her motto, “Shyness gets you nowhere”. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her beloved husband William of nearly 45 years, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Maura Eileen Fouhey of Brighton, her son, William F. Fouhey, Jr and his wife Kara of Swampscott, her grandchildren, Theodore, Hanna and Angel Baby Francis, her sisters, Patricia Shaw and her husband William of Peabody, and Kimberly Kilcommons and her husband Peter of Peabody, her brother-in-law James Fouhey, Jr and his wife Agnes of Salem, and her sister-in-law Marie Fouhey of Salem, and her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, Ashley Kilcommons and her fiancé Elias, Kristen Kilcommons and Peter Kilcommons, Jennifer Doane and her children Olivia and Cameron, Erin Story and her husband Brian and their children Brian and Kyla, Andrew Shaw and his wife Sara, James Fouhey and his wife Claire and Aaron Fouhey.
