Obituary

DANVERS - Mrs. Nancy T. (Prunier) Granese 89, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Robert J. Granese, has died.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late George and Nancy (Beaudry) Prunier. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians in Newton.

Mrs. Granese had been employed as an administrative assistant and office manager with the Danvers Herald for many years and more recently had been employed as an executive assistant at Signal Corporation of Danvers.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nancy was dedicated to her family and community. She was an avid reader, borrowing books from the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers for more than 66 years. She was named a Patron of the Library, was a member of the Jane Austin Book Club and was determined to read every book in the library. Active in social, fraternal and volunteer organizations, she was a member of the Jaycees and Jaycee-etts of Danvers, the Danvers Catholic Couples Club and St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers.

Nancy was blessed with artistic talents that she shared with family and friends. She was a member of the Danvers Art Association and volunteered at many of their exhibits and events. She expressed her talents through oil painting and her collection of art hung on her walls and those of family and friends. She was an inspired woman who enjoyed all that life had to offer, from travel to Paris and the art work at the Louvre, to the newest art installation in her beloved hometown. Through readings of the latest novelist, Nancy lived to expand her mind and creativity through experience and connection with others. Her spirit will live on through her life's works and her memory will never fade.

Nancy is survived by her children, Nancy DiLuca and her husband Dominic of Danvers, Susan Mathison and her husband Peter of Wakefield, Robert A. Granese and his wife Leslie of Wenham, and Paul Granese of Los Angeles, CA, her 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild, her sister Norma Sosnowski and her husband Robert of Danvers, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Arthur Prunier.
