SALEM - Mr. Nicholas R. Carrion 40, of Salem, died unexpectedly, February 2, 2020. Born in Salem, he was the son of Isidro Carrion and the late Karen Spilman. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. As a young man Nicholas excelled in athletics. He enjoyed playing basketball, football and baseball. Mr. Carrion had been employed as a Carpenter with Decked Out. He was a skilled craftsman and talented in his professional trade. A loving and devoted father, son, brother and friend, Nicholas loved his family deeply. He doted on his children and was a proud and loving father. His true life's passion was music. He expressed his gifts through Hip Hop music, composing melodies and lyrics. His professional dream of becoming a mainstay in the hip hop industry was taking shape. His creations were true poetry. Above all else his love for his children and family will be everlasting. He will be deeply missed. Nicholas is survived by his daughter, Nadia Rose Carrion, his son, Nicholas Ryan Carrion Jr., his father, Isidro Carrion, his brother, Jason Carrion, his children's mother, Katie Hashem and many extended family and friends. He was the son of the late Karen Spilman and brother of the late Adam Carrion.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in the Chapel of St. John the Baptist Church, Chestnut St., Peabody, Tuesday, Feb. 11th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours in The O'Donnell Funeral home, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Monday, Feb. 10th from 5 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carrion Children Memorial Fund, C/O Salem 5, 23 Main St., Georgetown, MA 01833.
