PEABODY - Ms. Nidia Medina 91, of Peabody, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic she was the daughter of the late Jose Solis Pereira and the late Paula Medina. Raised and educated in the Dominican Republic Nidia immigrated to the United States in the late 1980’s.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother family was most important to Nidia. She took her job as homemaker and matriarch very seriously and provided a warm and loving home for her family and often brought them together with her amazing meals. She loved being surrounded by her multi-generational family. Nidia was a fiercely independent woman who lived life on her own terms. She enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and soccer. She will be forever remembered for her love of family and her selfless generosity. Nidia will be deeply missed.
Surviving Nidia are her daughters, Lilian Rodriguez of Peabody, Andrea Rodriguez of the Dominican Republic and Esther Sosa of Haverhill, her sons, Hector Rodriguez of Peabody, Ernesto Rodriguez of Peabody and Orlando Medina of Peabody, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
