Norberta Marie "Nobby" (Crowley) Jutras

BEVERLY – Mrs. Norberta Marie “Nobby” (Crowley) Jutras, 86, lifelong resident of Beverly and loving wife of Robert E. Jutras, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Beverly Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born in Malden, Nobby was the daughter of the late John J. and Annetta Marie (Eveleigh) Crowley. Raised and educated in Beverly, Nobby attended St. Margaret’s Grammar School in Beverly Farms and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School. Upon her graduation, she continued her education at Winthrop’s School of Nursing where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Caring for others was more than an occupation for Norberta, it was her true passion and entrenched deep within her soul. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Nobby valued the traits instilled in her of tender care taking. She dedicated her career working as an LPN in the OB and Pediatrics Departments, always taking care of children. As a young woman, she started her career working at Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she worked nights. As she became a mother, Nobby took some time to tend to her own family and returned back to healthcare dedicating over 25 years with Beverly Hospital until the time of her retirement.

Being a caretaker was evident in all aspects of her life. She was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured her large and loving family. She kept busy, tended to all, making sure they were welcomed, comfortable and happy. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband and siblings, going back to family roots in Bermuda and cruising to Aruba and other islands. She enjoyed reading and often would burst out in song, singing about anything, smiling, laughing and always keeping a song in her heart. Deeply devoted to her family, Nobby enjoyed traditional English get-togethers hosted by her mother. It was always a special occasion when the whole family would gather and as a large family, they each cherished these moments to be as one. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.    

In addition to her husband, Robert with whom Nobby shared 67 years of marriage, she is survived by her children and their families; Robert Michael Jutras and his wife, Darcy of Beverly, Linda Allen of Beverly, Susan Doucette and her husband, Michael of NH, Mark Jutras and his wife, Melissa of Readsboro, VT and David Jutras and his wife, Kristen of Beverly; her 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Maureen Loreti of Beverly, John Crowley and his wife, Johannah of Marblehead and Sharon Keilty of Mashpee and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends. Norberta was the sister of the late Kay Haggerty, Jane Bucci and Susan Ellsworth.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nobby’s funeral service which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Wednesday, May 18th at 11:30 A.M. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 A.M. Burial in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nobby’s memory may be made to the Beverly Council on Aging, 90 Colon St., Beverly, MA 01915.
