Obituary

TOPSFIELD- Mr. Norris Edward Kenyon 85 of Topsfield and Mashpee, MA, beloved husband of Dorothea May (Baker) Kenyon, passed away, Saturday May 17th, 2014 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Norrie was the son of the late Clarence and Constance (Hatton) Kenyon. He is survived by his wife Dottie, of 63 years, his daughter, Terry Kenyon Rowden and her husband David Rowden M.D., his sons, Jeffrey Kenyon and his wife Allison, Steven Kenyon D.M.D. and his wife Denise, David Kenyon and his wife Sharon and his seven grandchildren, Christie, Kimberly, Meredith, Ian, Cameron, Ryan and Jocelyn. He is also survived by his brother William Kenyon and several nieces and nephews. He was raised and educated in Rhode Island and was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. He served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army in Korea. Norrie was employed with the General Electric Company for over 41 years. He was the Manager of Marketing and Advertising for the Aircraft Engine Division of G.E. until the time of his retirement in 1990. Norrie was an avid sports fan, and loved fishing and golf. His hobbies included painting and gardening. A resident of Topsfield since 1961, Norrie was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church. His dedication to the church included starting the Trinity Church Pre-School and serving on the vestry. He was a member of the Town Finance Committee and head of the Parent Teacher Association for Stewart School. He belonged to the Former New Meadows Lodge A.F. & A.M. and was currently a member of the Budleigh Lodge A.F. & A.M.. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church, River St., Topsfield, Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. Burial in the Trinity Church Burial Grounds. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in Norrie's memory to Trinity Episcopal Church, 124 River Rd, Topsfield, MA 01983 or Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
