DANVERS - Paul J. Broglino, 77, of Danvers, beloved husband of Angela (Witwicki) Broglino, passed peacefully on April 23rd, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a brief illness.
Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Thomas and Rose (Megna) Broglino. He was raised and educated in Somerville and attended Somerville High School.
Paul had been employed by NEC Electronics for many years. In his later years, he worked as a bus driver for the Beverly School Department. He was a hardworking man, dedicated to providing for his family.
An athlete from a young age, Paul played his way up to the New York Yankees AA Farm team until a career ending injury sidelined his dream of becoming a professional baseball player. Paul was also a baseball coach for many years in the town of Danvers. He loved the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the Boston Bruins. Paul enjoyed the competition and camaraderie that athletics provided. He always supported his children’s and grandchildren’s interests. He attended almost every showing of every concert and sports event and always put his family first.
In addition to his wife, Angela, of 54 years, he is survived by his daughter, Julie Edson of Beverly and her partner, Peter Radzim of Ipswich and his son, Thomas Broglino and his wife, Lisa of Ipswich. He also leaves four beloved grandchildren: Paul and Anna Edson and Ava and Mia Broglino. He leaves his brother, Richard and his wife, Marie Broglino of Tyngsborough, his brother-in-law, Anthony Witwicki of Beverly, his sister-in-law, Emily and her husband, Roger Morency of Beverly, and his sister-in-law, Mary and her husband, James Rice of Madbury, New Hampshire. Paul also leaves his loving nieces and nephews and his friends, Jack and Silvana Mezza, along with his grand pup, Brady Broglino.
Paul wishes to thank all of his family and friends for giving him such great joy and their never-ending love and support.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot St., Beverly on Friday, April 28th at 12 P.M. (noon). Please, meet directly at church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Visiting hours will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Thursday, April 27th from 4 to 7 P.M.
