Paul D. DeLuca, Sr.

SALEM - Paul Dominic DeLuca, Sr., 85, of Salem, MA, beloved husband of the late Nancy Dillon DeLuca for 31 years and the late Helen Royal DeLuca for 21 years, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 11, 2020, at his home, following a medical incident.

Born in Danvers, MA April 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Dominic DeLuca, Sr., born in Grottaminarda, Italy and the late Anna Pirrotta DeLuca, born in Salem. He was raised and educated in Danvers and resided in Danvers and Swampscott for many years before settling down in Salem for 36 years.

Paul was a skilled welder for the General Electric Company in Lynn for over 40 years before his retirement and was an avid bartender at Bertini’s Restaurant in Salem where he met lots of wonderful friends throughout the years. He kept busy by enjoying his morning coffee gatherings with his buddies, cooking Italian food, watching old movies and sports, playing cards, and joking around with family and friends.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sally (Roger) Arsenault, Suzanne (James) Downs, Sharon (Gary Sweezey) DeLuca, and Paul (Aimee) DeLuca, Jr.; stepsons, James Pappas and the late Christopher Pappas; siblings, Ralph DeLuca, Mary Pierce, Dominic DeLuca, Jr., and the late Salvatore DeLuca; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many relatives and extended family.

ARRANGEMENTS: As requested by the family, services will be held privately.
