Pauline Perron Obituary

SALEM - Pauline Gaudenzi Perron passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 at the Herrick House in Beverly.  “Polly” was 103 years old and had led a life filled with love, family and adventure.

Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Annie Gaudenzi.  Polly was the beloved wife of the late Salem City Councilor, Edmond Perron Jr. The couple wed in 1944.   While Ed fought in Europe during World War II, Polly lived in New York and served in the U.S. Government Reservation Bureau, arranging for the movement of American troops throughout Europe and the United States.  Polly and Ed were reunited when the war was over, settling in Salem where they built their family home and raised their children. Polly’s love of travel and helping people get where they wanted to go never left her.  Later in life she founded and ran Witch City Travel, and during those years, she travelled the world over.  It was a passion she shared with family and friends. She would eventually sell the agency and retire to Hillsboro Beach, Florida, where she enjoyed many happy years.

Polly was a communicant at St. Anne’s Church in Salem. Her Catholic faith guided her generous spirit throughout her life.

Polly is survived by four daughters: Christine Allen and her husband Charles of Marblehead, Carol Gray and her husband Francis of Marblehead, Cathy Eaton and her husband Henry of Salisbury and Claire Bencal and her husband Richard of Salem. Polly was greatly loved by her seven grandchildren: Esme Allen, Christopher (Kit) and Adam Gray, Brooke and Perry Eaton, Jason Glick and Rachel Adams.  She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her sisters-in-law, Connie Perron of Wenham and Mary Gaudenzi of Beverly.

She was predeceased by her three sisters: Ann Andreas, Margaret Fabri, Alice Costello, and by her brother, Frank Gaudenzi, Jr.
