PEABODY - Mr. Pedro Mercedes, 85 of Peabody, beloved husband of Efigenia S. "Celia" Lopez passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with his family by his side. Born, raised and educated in Bayaguana, Dominican Republic he was the son of the late Felipe Mercedes and Eduvijis German. Pedro worked many years as a Machine Operator at the Papelera Industrial Dominicana in the Dominican Republic. A loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Pedro was deeply devoted to his family and his faith as he was a member of Iglesia Luz y Vida in Lynn. Pedro loved to watch baseball, enjoyed spending his time playing dominoes with his family and friends and would always be happy for a meal consisting of fried chicken wings. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his wife Celia, Pedro is survived by his daughters, Yngris M. Mercedes and her husband Jose Mata and M. Margarita Mercedes and her husband Juan Aguilar, his son, Blass C. Mercedes and his wife Griselda, his grandchildren, Christopher Mercedes and his wife Cecilia, Matthew Mercedes and his fiancée Suleica Anziani, Gabriel Mercedes and Caroline Mata, he is survived by his beloved niece, Nairobi Garcia, his sister, Benita, brother, Lorenzo and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Guadalupe, Emeteria, Alejandrina, Dolores, Elupina, Manuel, Aldo, Juan Bautista, Luis and Francisco.
ARRANGEMENTS: Pedro's funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers on Monday, June 24th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited.
