Philip E. Reddy, Jr.

SALEM – Mr. Philip Everett Reddy Jr., 39, of Malden, beloved partner of Marisa Somers, died unexpectedly due to a medical incident, September 3, 2020

Born in Salem, he was the son of Philip E. Sr. and Roberta (Michaud) Reddy. A graduate of St. John’s Grammar School in Peabody, he continued his education graduating from Bishop Fenwick High School, as member of the class of 1999. He matriculated to Salem State College earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Criminal Justice as a member of the graduating class of 2004.

A lifelong passion for health and fitness, Phil was a personal trainer and health and fitness expert having been associated with multiple gyms and fitness centers throughout the North Shore and the metro Boston Area. Through his passion for fitness, he took great pride in helping others reach their goals to live a healthier lifestyle.

Growing up in Salem, Phil made many friends over the years. If you were lucky enough to have met Phil once, you became an everlasting friend. Athletic from a young age, he excelled playing with Salem Youth Soccer, Salem Little League Baseball and more recently Men’s softball. He was a New England Junior Showman Champion, showing his walker hound Mitch. He had a deep affinity for dogs especially his canine companions Mitch, Belle, and Cooper.

A loving son, BIG brother, Partner, nephew, cousin and friend, Phil touched more people than we will ever know and accomplished more than he realized. He relished the opportunity to help others and exuded positive energy. A people person, he was always bringing groups of friends together and creating new, life-long friendships. He was a passionate fan of all the New England sports teams and spending time with his beloved partner Marisa. He also loved golfing with his Brother and friends every chance he could. He was kind, loving, had a huge heart and will forever be remembered for his kindness, love and loyalty.

Phil is survived by his loving parents, Philip E. Sr. and Roberta (Michaud) Reddy of Salem, his brother, Daniel Reddy of Salem, his partner, Marisa Somers of Malden, his aunts and uncles, Colleen Reddy of Beverly, Robert Reddy of Maine, Thomas Reddy of Rockport and Shannon Reddy Hughes and her husband Leonard of NH, and many cousins extended family and friends. He was the nephew of the late Michael, Francis, John and William Reddy.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Salem/Peabody line, Thursday, Sept. 10th at 10 A.M. Please meet directly at church. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at O’Donnell – Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, Wednesday, Sept. 9th from 4 to 8 P.M.
