Regina Collins Obituary

SALEM- Regina O. Collins, 63 of Salem, passed away suddenly on Saturday February 20, 2021 at North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital.

Born in Salem she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Orilla R. M. (Richards) Collins. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School Class of 1976. Regina continued her education at Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, receiving her associate’s degree in Nursing.

A kind and caring woman, Regina embarked on a long career in Nursing, beginning at Salem Hospital and later as Nursing Supervisor at Care One at Essex Park in Beverly, formerly known as Mediplex, where she provided comfort and was a strong advocate for her patients.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Regina cared deeply for her family. She was happiest when surround by those she loved best and her greatest joy was spending time doting over her grandson. A lifelong resident of the City of Salem; always willing to give of herself, she served and cared for her community through her work as a nurse. Regina was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and did so often. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family her dedication to her profession and will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.

Surviving Regina is her son, Anthony Collins of Salem, her grandson, Anthony Collins of Salem, her brother, James Collins of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews including, Jessica Marshall of Malden, Jesse Hussey of Manchester, NH, Bronson Collins of Manchester, NH and Olivia Collins of New York. She was also the sister of the late Hal Collins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in O’Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) Salem on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 from 4 to 6:30 P.M. All other services are private. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing and respectfully ask for no physical contact with the family. Sharing written remembrances and condolences, during this time will be essential in helping’s Regina’s family reminisce, celebrate and heal.
