SALEM - Mr. Richard A. Coner, 69, of Salem, formerly of Westford, died, peacefully, November 2, 2017 at The Commons in Lincoln.

Born in Boston, May 5, 1948, he was the son of the late Richard and Laura (Kalnicki) Coner. He was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. Richard continued his education receiving his Bachelor's degree from Salem State College.

An honorably discharged veteran, Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Richard retired from the IRS in 2011 with over 26 years of dedicated service.

Richard was an avid Boston sports fan, loved being on the beach as much as possible and he enjoyed spending time with his family and longtime friends.

Surviving Richard are his daughter, Kate Coner of Billerica; his son Christopher Coner and his wife, Suzanne, of Watertown; his brother, Joseph Coner and his wife, Eileen, of Marco Island, Florida; his brother, Robert Coner and his wife, Michelle, of Pembroke; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin Arthur Coner; sister, Regina Folger; and brother, Paul Coner.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Service will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq.,(at Salem Common) Salem on Tuesday, November 14th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited.
