DANVERS – Mr. Richard H. Jones 91, of Danvers, beloved husband of Perrie A. (Lussier) Jones, died peacefully, Sunday, April 24th, 2022, at the Linden in Danvers.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Merle and Gladys A. (Brown) Jones. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.
Mr. Jones had been employed for many years with IBM as a Senior Administrative Specialist until the time of his retirement.
A long-time resident of the Town of Danvers, Dick was active in many civic and fraternal organizations over the years. He volunteered coaching Danvers Little League and was a member and Past President of the Danvers Jaycees. As president he was integral in starting the Fireworks show which was a great town tradition. An active and outstanding Mason, he was a member of Golden Fleece Lodge A.F. & A.M. Faith was of the utmost importance to Dick and he was a longtime active member of the First Church Congregational in Hamilton. He served of the board of directors of Asbury Grove for many years. Above all else he was devoted to his wife and family.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Pierrette A. “Perrie” (Lussier) Jones of Danvers, his sons, Jeff Jones and his wife Joni of Rochester, N.H. and Darryl Jones and his wife Nancy of Beverly, Perrie’s children, Jane DeSantis of Clovis, NM, Dennis Quinlan and his wife Pam of Beverly and Patrick Quinlan and his wife Lauren of Hadley, his grandchildren, Lindsay Delaney and her husband Kevin of Nottingham, NH, Alyssa Trull and her husband Ricky of N. Andover, Derek Jones and his wife Jen of Danvers, Paul Jones of Danvers, Steve Quinlan and his wife Julia of Brooklyn, NY, Ted Quinlan of Brooklyn, NY, Adriane Quinlan and her husband Andrew Marzoni of Brooklyn, NY, Alex Quinlan of Berlin, Germany, Thomas DeSantis of Denver, CO, Michael DeSantis of Southborough and Jemma Krouk Wagner of Easthampton, his great grandchildren, Cameron, Lydia, William, Emerson, Joseph, Ignatius, Hadley and Gavin, his sister, Nancy Keeler and her husband Dick of Texas, his cousin, Andy Pratt in Woolwich, ME, and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held in the First Congregational Church of Hamilton, on Saturday, May 21st, at 11 A.M. Burial is private.
