DANVERS- Mr. Richard H. Seger, 80, of Danvers, beloved husband of the late Dorothy (LeBlanc) Seger and the late Theresa (Marciano) Burns Seger, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his seven devoted children.

Born in Bangor Maine, he was the son of the late Richard and Barbara (Cormier) Seger. Raised and educated Bangor he was a graduate of Bangor High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, Richard, at the age of fifteen enlisted in the Maine National Guard where he served until his 18th birthday when he enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served his country as a Paratrooper with the Path Finders.

Mr. Seger had been employed as a Design Engineer and a Tool and Die Maker for Maynard Plastics for over 40 years.

A loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather & friend, he was quick with a smile and loved to tell a good joke. His outgoing personality endeared him to many and all were encouraged to call him Dad. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

A resident of the Town of Danvers for the past 17 years, Richard was an active volunteer at the Danvers Senior Center where he was affectionately known as "Mr. Fix It", spending countless hours helping other members with projects around their homes. He drove seniors to their appointments and was always willing to listen or tell one of his famous jokes to lift someone's spirit.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard Seger of Danville, NH, Barbara DuLong and her husband David of Litchfield, NH, Wayne Seger of Lynn, Karen Ahern and her husband Henry of Beverly, Donna Kilroy and her husband Robert of Clinton, Robert Seger of Danvers and Susan Corsbie and her husband Ronald of Beverly, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his sister, Roberta Musson of OH. He was also the brother of the late Robert Seger.

Arrangements: His funeral will be held from the Peterson O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Wednesday October 5th at 10:15 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Richard Catholic Church, Forest St., Danvers at 11A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours Tuesday, October 4th from 4 to 8 P.M. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Richard's memory to Mass.
