SALEM, Oregon - Richard "Dick" Daniel Greene passed away peacefully in his home in Salem, Oregon on July 14th, 2022 at the age of 97. He left behind his daughters, Megan Greene and Karri Egoroff, Son in Law, Dan Egoroff, Stepson, Eric Stroud and Daughter in law, Tracy Stroud along with the many nieces and nephews he truly adored.
He grew up in Peabody, MA and served in World War II as a navigator in the United States Navy. He studied at Boston College graduating with a Masters Degree in Physics where he was the Captain of the Track team. He was a leader in all his endeavors, most notably his work in the early development of microchip technology before he adapted his intellect to focus on marketing and analysis. He worked as a Principal Analyst in the Semiconductor Industry and made his career in Silicon Valley as it grew with him. He was a passionate and tireless professional who made significant industry contributions well into his 80’s.
He started his family in his 40’s and was a committed, amazing and loving father who was always ‘there’ for his girls — every sporting event, always ready for homework duty, graduations, weekend adventures, hospitalization, trivial teenage drama events — he was ‘there.’ He was the dad you could count on, talk to and laugh with. Simply put was an incredible father.
Loving, warm, kind, and unbelievably generous, Richard D. Greene was also a man with great integrity and intelligence. He had a "wicked" sense of humor and was incredibly supportive of others. He was loved deeply by his immediate and extended family. We will all miss him greatly.
Rest in Peace Dad. We will never stop loving you!
