Robert James "Bob" Hansbury

PEABODY – Mr. Robert James Hansbury, 83 of Peabody, loving husband of Barbara A. (Szczechowicz) Hansbury, passed away on February 1st, 2021 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington after a courageous battle with COVID-19.

Born in Beverly, he was the son of Harold and Nora (Callely) Hansbury. Raised and educated in Beverly, Bob attended Beverly Public Schools and was a graduate of Beverly High School.

Robert was a skilled mechanic and dedicated his professional career with Logan Airport as a mechanic and truck driver where he maintained the transportation equipment for many years until the time of his retirement.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bob was a family man through and through. He loved camping with his family creating life long memories. Above all else, his greatest pride was his family and he will be deeply missed by them all.

In addition to his wife Barbara, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, Robert is survived by his daughters, Pamela Hansbury of Peabody, Barbara Hansbury of Peabody, Julie Hansbury and her husband, Kevin Dunn of Ipswich and Holly Nadeau and her husband, Joseph of Jefferson, NH, his grandchildren, Ronnie Smithers, Erica Tanguay and her husband, Gregg, Mary Mulherin, Amanda Mulherin, Katie Mulherin, Britny Emery and her husband, Mitchell and Karissa Dunn, great-grandchildren, Alysa Paré, Jordan Tanguay, Hailey Tanguay, Madisyn Emery and Shane Smithers and his beloved canine companions, Pippy and Zoe. Robert was the brother of the late Mary Borsetti, John “Jack” Hansbury and Ann Davekos.
