Mr. Robert H. Haskell 75 of Danvers, beloved husband of the late Bette Jean (Herrick) Haskell, died Tuesday November 1, 2011 at the Masconomet Rehabilitation Center in Topsfield.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Rodney and Doris (Lamanson) Haskell. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Saugus High School class of 1956 where he was a member of the high school marching band.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Haskell had been employed for many years at Signal Manufacturing in Salem until the time of his retirement. In his retirement years, Bob was associated with the Stop & Shop Supermarkets in Beverly and Swampscott in the Bakery.
An outstanding and active Mason, Worshipful Haskell was a member for over thirty years and past Master of Amity-Mosaic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Danvers, more recently he was a member of Budley Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Beverly. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Salem, Aleppo Shrine Temple in Wilmington and a member and officer of the Odd Fellows of Braintree. Bob was dedicated to volunteerism having devoted some of his free time to others through the Shaughnessy Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem. An avid traveler and great story teller, Bob will be deeply missed for his commitment to others and his kind and friendly nature.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Jean Nelson and her husband Rick of Rowley, his son, Robert B. Haskell of Topsfield and his beloved grandson, Alexander R. Nelson of Rowley and many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Calvary Chapel North Shore, 352 Andover St., (Rte. 114) Danvers, Friday at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers, Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M.
