Roberta "Bobbie" Wessels went home to be with The Lord on June 4th, 2012. Bobbie, born March 18, 1941, was a sparkling presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a faithful friend with a quick wit and a kind word for all. We have lost a one-of-a-kind example of steadfast love and faith in the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Barbara (Bates) Leach of Danvers, her brother David Leach of Wooster, OH and her son Scott Brousseau (age 3) of Peabody. Bobbie is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Wessels of Peabody, her sister Marge (Leach) Butler of Stockbridge, GA and brother-in-law Bruce Butler of Stockbridge, GA. her son Tom Brousseau of Fort Mill, SC and granddaughters Celina and Jacqueline Brousseau of Danvers, MA, her daughter Laura Brousseau and grandson Cody Brousseau, her son Donald Wessels of Hawaii and grandchildren Sara and Andrew Wessels, her daughter, Sharon Caulfield and her husband Robert of Peabody and grandchild Kerry Caulfield, her daughter Karen MacGregor and husband Bill of Danvers and grandchildren Amy Gingle, Bill MacGregor, and Tracy MacGregor, and her son Scott Wessels and his wife Jodi of Haverhill and grandchild Tyler Wessels.
Bobbie was a graduate of Salem Hospital School of Nursing and had worked as a nurse in Salem, MA and Rochester, NY until her retirement several years ago. She was faithful Member of West Church in Peabody serving on various boards, with joy and a giving spirit. Her absence will leave a great void in the lives and hearts of many people.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the West Congregational Church, 27 Johnson St., Peabody, Saturday, June 9th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Friday from 4 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bobbie's memory to the West Congregational Church, 27 Johnson St., Peabody, Ma 01960.
