Ronald Liberge Obituary

DANVERS- Mr. Ronald C. Liberge, 81 of Danvers, formerly of Salem, beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Makela) Liberge, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the Brentwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Salem he was the son of the late Arthur and Martha (Buxton) Laberge. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. A gifted athlete, Ron played youth sports for many years at the YMCA and was a member of the Salem High Basketball Team.

An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Liberge proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Ronald had been employed by Salem Oil and Grease as a plumber for many years, and later retired from Tanner City. Never one to be idle, Ron soon took a position at the Peabody Essex Museum as a security guard where he reveled being surrounded by the many works of art.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Ron worked hard everyday and took great pride in providing for his family. He always made sure his family had what they needed to ensure his children grew up in a warm and loving home. He enjoyed being a grandfather and relished the times spent with his grandchildren and being involved in their many activities. Committed to his family, and community, Ron was a member of the Vittori Rocci Post and the American Legion, Herman A. Spear Post #331 of Beverly, where he made many life long friends. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, community and country and will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
