We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations DANVERS
DANVERS-Ron was born, raised, and educated in Beverly. Ron is predeceased by his father Robert and mother Arlene. Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years Sandra, his children Amy Stetson of Beverly, Gary and Laurie Stetson of Beverly, Chad Stetson of Beverly, Holly and Jason Spencer of Beverly, Sara and Chris Dembowski from Danvers. Ron is also survived by his grandchildren, Timothy & Amanda Healey, Courtney Stetson, Ashley D’Amato, Matthew Stetson, Cody, Hunter, Logan & Sydney Spencer, Madison, Connor and Paige Dembowski & his brother Donald and his wife Ramona from Indiana. In addition, Ron is survived by his 10 great grandchildren.
He enjoyed teaching swimming lessons at the local YMCA before enlisting in the Navy for several years of service on a Battleship. After returning from the Navy, he then married the love of his life Sandra.
He was a retiree of the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed making a comfortable life for his family, teaching his valued lessons along the way. Ron became a father figure to so many people he met along his path of life and these people became a part of his family. Ron enjoyed fishing, gardening, vacationing, watching his beloved Red Sox, rooting for his grandkids at their sporting events, but his favorite past time was spending quality time with his family. Ron will also be remembered for his quick wit, his sarcasm and having no filter during any conversation and also his famous trademark of flipping you the bird, which was actually like getting a big hug and kiss from him. His unwavering support for his country was a force not to be reckoned with.
