BOXFORD – Mrs. Ruth E. (Gamble) Rollins, 94 of Boxford, beloved wife of the late Arthur M. Rollins Sr., died peacefully Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at her home.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Trask) Gamble. She was raised and educated in Boxford and was a graduate of Topsfield High School, Class of 1944. She continued her education at Salem Commercial School with a focus on Accounting.

Mrs. Rollins began her professional career with the former Halpern Tannery in Peabody as a bookkeeper until the time of her marriage in 1947. Upon her marriage, she began her large, loving family of nine children and devoted her life to creating a warm and loving home while simultaneously operating Charles M. Rollins Co, Inc. with her husband Arthur. Ruth was integral to the success of the business. An astute and seasoned businesswoman, she excelled in accounting and ran the office of the company. She embraced technology, computerized the business accounting system, and enjoyed her iPad to the end. She enjoyed her cocker spaniels and spending time in Nantucket. Over the years she was a benefactor to the Boxford Fire Department. Above all else, Ruth was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and will be remembered for her devotion to both.
